About Divi!

After the events of Cave Story, Divi’s mom left the floating Island behind with the Sakamoto family. Displaced and traveling on monetary assistance, they found themselves in Hometown. Divi is a bit withdrawn, preferring to stay to herself in person at most times. If you can get her out of her shell and keep her hyped up, she’s surprisingly confrontational, that meekness is gone like the wind. Heavy-handed, overbearing, and loud. Online, there’s a bit of a different persona, but she’ll immediately go back to being meek if going to see someone in town is brought up. Her mom’s attempting to make her make friends.Despite stating how much she liked the Island so much, she hardly speaks of it barring passing details… Someone should pry that out of her.Her mom, uncle, and one of her older brothers run a small herbal shop outside of town. Growing flowers and herbs not native to the area (or continent, really) seems to be paying off for them, as they seem to be doing well! There's not a single plant the color red in sight anywhere in or around the shop, however, and Divi seems a bit nervous whenever she sees a red rose...In the Dark World, Divi’s strapped with the LODESTAR weapon and only has the CORE MELTDOWN special attack, for 70% TP and a -30HP recoil. Dressed in a tanktop and baggy green cargo pants. A nice, wide brimmed hat planted on her... She fits the role of a Ranger perfectly in the Dark World.Paired with Kris’ SOUL, she can load something in her LODESTAR to make it become the SPURRED SHOT.If Divi meets heheheha, she can have the LODESTAR upgraded into the LEPUS MAJOR after a one on one duel. This’ll change her special attack to WHIMSICAL UNLOAD, with no recoil.Other synergies can be brought up!

"Ya know, she makes really good noodles. The problem is... Hhhow do I put this... She gets really philosophical when she makes them. She told me that "there is nothing that can resist the contents over your own heart." o'er some beef noodles. Kind've a weird one, her..."
-A strange beetle.

"The herb shop-keeper's daughter?
Oh, she's a delight whenever she's around! She doesn't usually speak unless spoken to, but when she does, and it's something she's skilled with... Gosh, she has a lot to say! You should listen to her speak about calculating trajectories with rocks."

"Oh, her? She’ll actually go into a fight or flight frenzy over loud growling sounds if she's not expecting it. She usually tends to go for something heavy and choose fight. There's been a time or two where she's actually been hurt, or hurt someone 'cause of it."

You hold a piece of paper, containing what was said to be a rumor...

Oh, it's just several somethings she wrote. Well, you're already here.
Might as well read it anyway, right?

"You know, I never really understood why people like knights so much. Blades, either.""A sword’s use is solely to break another. It cannot heal wounds, makes for a poor plow, cannot create art, produces a terrible noise... Its only power, as a symbol, is to rally those who crave violence.""Maybe I'm a small, stupid hypocrite for preferring the gun as a weapon, but... Violence truly is a revolving circle, isn't it? It's a shame that sometimes..."
"It's the only way it can end."
"The only difference between the Ranger and the Knight is how fast they can snuff another life. A Knight by nature will typically be slow, blunt and brutal, as their opponents tend to be fellow Knights. A Ranger can take their time with a quarry, but why would they? They wait long enough to aim precise. If you land your mark, you've already won."

Did you know that the witch-woman Jenka once had a brother? His name was Ballos. Like his sister, he wielded powers far beyond those of mortals...He used his magical powers to help and guide people, and the people loved and trusted him in return.
Even more than they did their own king...
The jealous king had Ballos apprehended and thrown in prison, where his punishment was brutal and cruel.Under the extreme cruelty of the torture, Ballos's magical abilities finally ran wild. The King was engulfed in the swirl of magic and destroyed in an instant. In a single night, the kingdom that Ballos so loved was reduced to ashen ruins.Jenka, seeing her brother's madness, ripped the earth up, confining him to a floating island. That was the most she could do. Even as he was, she could not bring herself to kill her own brother...It was Jenka's daughter Misery who made Ballos create the Demon Crown. She was subsequently cursed by the crown, forced to do the bidding of all who wear it.And now, I ask: What about the suffering of my people from their actions? How many lost, just because one couldn't find the heart to end the other?A magician is truly just a feral dog. All their magic does is bring Hell to everyone else, whether with good intentions or bad, just as a feral dog brings nothing but fleas to anything it comes near.

A crumpled drawing of a memory.
Somehow, you can gleam a lot from this.
The crunching sound of a door breaking. A rabid, hulking white beast. The panicked breathing as your shaky legs try to flee, only to meet the back wall. You've already been attacked once. You're not going to survive another strike... A weapon not made for someone your size to fire is drawn from the dresser. The sound of thunder cutting through your ears, your shoulder cracking from improper wielding. The blood-chilling scream of the beast, as it turns to flee, only for the wound to be just too much for something even of its size. It falls over; the body shriveling to reveal that it was...Your sight caves in to the soothing dark. You awaken several days later to your uncle Churri changing your bandages. The only real sign of the conflict was the clawed apart door at this point. Your mom and brothers were away at the funeral.

Appearance

She’s a Mimiga. A bit less groomed than the others… But all in all, physically the same as the rest.Standing at a proud SIX APPLES TALL and weighing about as much as FIVE OR SIX VERY HEAVY POMELO FRUIT, she's very tall, very imposing if you put her on a chair, or perhaps a tall barstool. Eighteen years old. She's staring at you, those deep violet eyes blink-blink up. A bit of a puzzled look on her face. She’s a surprising variety of sweaters, and she usually has a red star blotch covering the fur on one eye. Is it make-up? Probably...Very soft, very fluffy. Touching her is like touching a stuffed animal. Pretty comparable to a Persian cat. There’s a deep set of scars on her back. Clawmarks, almost like a bear got her. The fur’s grown over them, but it’s still a bit off-color and not as fuzzy as the rest of her.

Inventory

"Oh-- hey! What're you digging for in my bag!? Stop it! I-I mean it!"

It's a really rough backpack, but let's see here...Looks like it's made of hemp!A lunchbox, with some homemade fish florentine inside. There's a surprising amount of dandelions in there too... Is... She's planning on eating those?A bag of Black Scottie Dogs?! Holy shit, where'd she get these?! Those are like- five bucks a bag!Going deeper, there's a small ammo box that now lives a much humbler life as a tacklebox. There's a lot of hooks in here, a spool of wire, synthetic bait, some bolt cutters and a bloodied pair of gloves. Looks like SOMEBODY can't hold a hook to save her life.A fishing pole. It's fun-sized, a nice homely green. At the very bottom... There's a diary! It's bound up with a lock. You can't read it now.Not yet, anyway. But, there's a note on the front you could read...

tip: everything you pretend to be becomes a part of what you are. even the facade you wear for the sake of deception reveals a crucial truth.

another tip, from a friend:Death is certain. Life is fleeting. Which to ponder?Behold the Mountain. It will remain tall, strong and proud.Consider it later.Behold the flower. It will wither, but it stays beautiful even in death.I suggest you consider it now.

You see no note in your hands now, only a diary. It's unlocked, and it's staring at you.It blinks. You put it back in the box, and wisely pretend you didn't see that.

You give the note a good shake, and... You realize that the note is actually empty?Weird. You don't even remember what it said...What? There was a note? What sort of weirdo leaves a note on her diary? What, do you think she'd expect someone to /read/ it?
